Is a nitrate level of 2.5ppm to high for discus in the aquarium?

2.5 is a very good level its incredibly hard for a tank to get below 10ppm. Is it planted??

My tank has been cycled for about a year, but I keep it really clean, and when I do a nitrate test, it comes back as 0.. does this mean my tank needs to be cycled again?

Domjd - Depends on what's going on in your tank (planted, volume, fish, etc). If you tank is planted it is entirely possible for your tank to be below a detectable amount of NO3 for your test kit. Before I intentionally started keeping my NO3 levels up around 10ppm my planted tank came back at between 0.50 and 0.93ppm.
