I just posted in a thread I had started about my filter problems that I noticed eggs on the glass today. Well, I just caught one of my bronze cory's laying eggs! I have had lots of angelfish eggs so far (none hatched, I'm not set up for angel fry). I was pretty sure these weren't angel eggs, they seem a bit bigger and are randomly laid all over the place, while the angels always lay them in neat little rows in one of three spots (and just laid some a couple days ago).

I had noticed the bigger cory getting fat lately and they seemed to be extra 'cuddly' with eachother. I was hoping she might be thinking about breeding, but didn't really expect it! I don't think these little guys will have much of a chance, but I might have to get setup one of these days and try raising some fry!

I'm just happy that the fish are happy enough to have some babies!

Any time fish spawn/breed/etc it is a great reward for doing your job as a fish keeper. Nice work!

The eggs may hatch.I have corys laying eggs all the time.I tried putting some into a floating breeder trap and they hatched within 2-3 days. That was great but they swam out the bottom of the trap.A week or so later my wife and I would search the tank with the lights out using a flashlight. We found all kinds of them. Now I just leave them on the glass and let them hatch!
Keep doing your water changes and do not vacuum the geavel for a while. You may have fry!!!!!:19:

Wow, she sure did lay a lot of eggs! As of tonight, there are still about 30 left in a couple of different spots around the tank. They aren't clouding up, so I may get some fry.
She even laid about 10 on the top of the thermometer!
I'm going away for 4-5 days on tuesday, right when they should start hatching...I could stick the eggs in a net cage, but I think they would have a better chance finding food and hiding on the bottom than trying to get hubby to feed them properly!

As long as there are no preditors in the tank.It doesn't take much!!

I have 5 corys 6 guppys and a glass cat ,none of them have seemed to bother.

Grats on the eggs, I can't wait for picks of the fry if there are any! Cory fry are always so darn cute.

Well, all the eggs ended up getting eaten, but no biggy, I figured that would happen. I will definitely be prepared for next time, though. Hopefully by then I will have the pleco and the other guy rehomed and they won't be there to eat the eggs.
