Everything seems to be going to hell lately with my aquariums. Anyway, in my freshwater tank, I have a female betta as you can see in my signature. It has been doing fine in the tank as far as I've seen since the Gourami stopped picking on her about the second day. Now, 2-3 weeks after being introduced, she suddenly doesn't seem so good this morning. She is moving slowly or not moving at all. All the water parameters are great...as usual. She just seems to be floating around, sitting on plants or rocks and not moving...or just floating slowly around, breathing slowly. Not really sure what do to. I've been feeding the whole tank a variety of stuff on a rotation...from tropical flakes, betta flakes, bottom feeder chips, and bloodworms, so I don't think it is the diet. I thought maybe the color looks to be a little faded on the side of the fish but I am told by my girlfriend that I am just seeing things from the angle and that the betta always looked like that. Anyway...any ideas?

Betta may be having trouble with the tankmates. Most do prefer to be on their own. Gouramis are usually not considered to be a suitable tankmate.

What kind of test kit do you have and how old is it?
Can you post your readings?

My test kit is like three months old...the readings have been good...haven't had a problem with anything since the first week or so...and I'm not home so I can't give you the exacts or anything from a fresh test.

And...the female betta was doing fine after that Gourami was used to her being in the tank which only took about a day. It is just very sudden today that things seem to have turned bad.
