Ok I know this would be easier if I had a pic...but you know how secretive they are and everytime I do catch him out of his home my camera is nowhere in sight so; best I can do is go with the color .
he is this copper color or even close to Georgia red clay doesnt really have any spots but there is a slite veriation in color kindof mottled I would say but just barely....any clues..I've just been calling him funny fish :hmm3grin2orange:

Does he have a dark grey dorsal and tail fin? If so, you've got Pterygoplichthys scrophus, which is usually the species sold as a chocolate pleco over the last few years. If that's him, he'll top out at 10 inches or so.

dixipixi, can you count the dorsal fin rays for me? I rather suspect that you have a color variation of a common pleco, which about 90 percent of the time is Pterygoplichthys pardalis. If he has at least 11 rays in his dorsal fin, that's likely who he is.
If he has seven rays, we're back where we started.

Sounds like what Petsmart sells as a Chocolate Albino Pleco. It is actually a Gibbiceps.

Dave66 he definately has at least 11 spines in his dorsel fin.....so I guess I have just a color variation of the common...nothing too too fancy huh...but I lvoe him anyway!:11:

Most plecos have similarly shaped tails and I can't think of any off hand that have a "V" shaped tail. I'll be looking forward to your pics!
