nitrite hi help

:hmm3grin2orange: hi all need some help my nitrite is very high change 40% of water then checked 5 hours later and still very high tank setup 10 days have malawi cichlids in tank ocean rocks coral gravel / sand tufa rock fluval 404 filter all water clear fish look fine colours are great just need to get nitrite down ?????

keep testing and doing W C's what are ammonia and nitrAte readings like?
I have heard that adding salt will help your fish survive the nitrIte spike, but I am sure someone else could confirm/deny that.

So we are in the middle of a cycle. Water changes and constant testing of the water is needed. What specifically are the water parameters?
