Well guys, I installed my Eheim on Monday and it didn't seem to have much effect. Even yesterday my water was only mildly better, today it looked better so I took a picture, I compared todays picture with one I took last night so it is a good point of comparison... tell me what you think.. I think the new filter is starting to "hit it's stride"

I definitely don't regret the purchase, thanks to those of you who recommended this filter.

It looks a lot better. A few more days and you should be crystal clear. I cant wait to get my 2215, even though my water is surprisingly clear i need more filtration. Tank looks great!

Thanks all for the compliments... set up the filter, and be patient... I thought it would clear the water within a day or two from the things I read but I think it really vary's depending on the cause of your water issues. My tank is fully cycled and I installed it as an addition to my current filtration, It took 4 days to show substanital results for me but I truly believe this filter has done what I was told and I would recommend it to anyone.

they really are the "lamborghinis" of canisters. they are more expensive though, i will say that that. you get what you pay for. bluefin, don't worry. it's going to take a little while for the bacteria to colonize your filter. one it does, your water will become crystal clear.--jeff:ezpi_wink1:

Jeff.... Don't misunderstand, I think the results after 4 days are incredible, took 3 days to start working, my water is clearing up so fast you can practically watch it get cleaner, there was a noticeable change even overnight.

Glad it is working out well. Are you perfectly clear yet?

I think it has gotten as clear as I can resonably expect, the tank is 50 inches long and I can clearly see the substrate and all components through the end all the way to the other end. There are always some fine bubbles and some small particulates flowing but very minimal. My next step at the end of this week is to clean the power filter and replace the filter floss this weekend, that will have given my filter 2 weeks to begin a good cycle, I will set it right back up but I don't expect any real improvement... looks pretty good I think
Thanks for asking....

Yea, you cant expect perfection but from the sounds of it everything has worked well. Hope it stays that way for you!

With any luck even 5 years would be acceptable, that works out to about 21 dollars a year.. anything over that is a bonus. Maybe I'll buy another at that point and run twin 2215'sthumbs2:

Glad you're happy with your filter. Was it fairly easy to set up and is it quiet? QUIET is a plus in my book. I have 4 aquariums in my little living room and between filters running, air pumps humming, water splashing........I feel like I'm trying to sleep under Niagra Falls.
Sleeping pills help! lol

you can't hear the eheims. on mine, i have to actually touch the filter to see if it's still operating.
