View Full Version : Small black/brown worms on inside of hood ???
I was doing a water change on my 29g tank today and I was horrified to see some blackish bownish worm looking things living on the underside of my tank hood! WTF are they ! Are they dangerous to my fish?

I have no idea what type of worms they are, but I would get rid of them before they fall into your tank!
They are about 1cm long and 3x the diameter of a hair. Looking really close at them they almost have little bristles or legs. E[Only Registered Users Can See Links.]
Here is a picture. maybe it is some sort of fly larvae? Not a great pic but better than nothing???

They are copepods, which are flourishing in the moist humidity under the hood. They are most likely eating the bio film that forms under there. Don't worry, they are harmless, and if any fall in, the fish will happily eat them. Reason you rarely see copepods in aquariums is the fish eat them as soon as they see them.
