I did some testing of my water today and everything looks to be square. One thing that I'm not sure about and am seeking some opinion on is my alkalinity. I was wondering what you guys thought would be ideal for a mixed reef.

Temp = 78 degrees
PH = 8.2
Ammonia = 0
Nitrite = 0
Nitrate = 0
Ca = 400
Alk = 11.2

I like mine between 7 and 10.

That number, as well as any number between 7-12dkh, is good. It will gradually decrease over time, so it's one of those parameters to be monitored.

Thanks for the input guys. Mine was at 16 when I started out a few months ago but has been dropping. I'll stay up on monitoring and dosing once it sags. I've been using the B Ionic 2 part on and off for a while now. More so on the Ca than the Alk. Should I try to fall back on that to keep the Alk in check or would you say larger water changes would be a better idea?
Thanks again.
