Just check My PhotoBucket Page (http://s28.photobucket.com/albums/c207/reptileguy2727/) to see them. There are pics of the new bichir, the new angels, and of Kahala (my quaker parrot) in her new huge cage.

The fish love them, and it's cheap for me (except for the $25-30 T-connector for 6" PVC pipe).

I read "quaker parrot" and thought, Hmmm never heard of that type of fish before. Then I saw the pics... Nearly smacked myself in the forehead! Shouldn't read post this late.

It's ok, Abbeys_Mom, I did the same thing. I was thinking some kind of parrot cichlid. LOL

I'm a parrot person myself (1 cockatiel, had an African Grey) and she should love that cage!

I got that cage slightly used (by looking at it, it looks brand new) for only $75. Note the full spectrum lighting on top, essential for indoor birds.

Awesome pics!

Do you find your little Quaker noisy? I've heard they can be. I have a Maximillian Pionus called Mocksie and he's generally quite quiet except when the kids are noisy or the hoover's on!

Your monitors are goooorgeous! I used to keep snakes.. I had two young Burmese Pythons and a beautiful Boa that I got as a hatchling (she was the size of a pencil) and had til she reached about five feet. They have so much power. I decided to rehome my snakes when I had my kids, but I still have a real passion for them!

Nice fish BTW too.. (seeing as though this is a fish forum..:11: )

Awesome pictures of you cichlids. What type of substrate did you use in the tank?

The 150 has 60 pounds of Estes' black marine sand and 100 pounds of white Estes' marine sand mixed together. They actually do not affect pH or hardness in any way.

I only have fish now, besides the quaker or the yellow lab. So no more reptiles at this point.

The quaker can be noisy, but I have been working in pet stores since I was 15, so I usually do not notice it, but it is annoying evey once in a while. I got her for free, including her old cage, so I really got a deal on her and her new cage.
