That explains why I don't see many little gators down at my local pond that I also fish in. Last spring I pulled out an 8 1/2 pound bass out of there. These largemouth bass could easily take on a small alligator! I could easily put my entire fist in this fishes mouth....not that I would want to...I might not have a fist left....
Bass are opportunistic hunters. If it is slow, and can fit into its mouth, it is fair game....
holy cow thats nuts...
EDIT do you got pics of that 8 and half pound bass?

It was 26 and a half inch long. I don't have pics, but a guy in a truck took a picture of it with me, saying I had something to be proud of. I ended up having bass on the grill and it was divine......

Yep, seen weird things like that many times. We have catfish that will eat the feet off of ducks in our ponds. I have caught a 9 lb bass before so I know what a big one is like!
