I just discovered a tiny snail in my tank!!
I was very careful about putting any of the LFS water in when I put the tetras in. I drained the bag through a net, then put the fish in, so how the heck did I get a snail???
I don't know whether to leave it be, or get rid of it. I don't think any of my fish wants to eat it :(
Advantages.....disadvantages of snails??

No, but I did before. Only one, and it was dying, so I got rid of it over a week ago. Could that still be it?

Pond snails are pests. They multiply so quickly you end up with a tank full. The make a mess too, I don't know how they do it, but snails seem to make poop in greater amounts then they eat. I just got another loach to take care of the problem in my tank.

Personally i would take him out before you have 100 snails in there. And if you have one right now im sure there is at least one more somewhere. Take him out before they start multiplying exponentially

Turn the light off or put a piece of vegetable in there and he (and possibly his friends) will be on it in a hour or so.

I have a single snail, purchased him at the store, he's quite clean and doesn't bother the fish, is constantly cleaning the glass or plastic plants in the tank. They're not always pests although they can be.
