Dempseys grow to a foot, Silver Dollars to 5 inches and they like several of their own with them. You need a huge tank for that Dempsey and it will kill both a betta and silver dollar.

depends on tank size, is it a 55g or 300g?

he is still small right now and is in a 29 gallon tank

That won't work at all. Sorry. Even if you get more silver dollars to go with the one you have, that won't work either. That size tank is good for a bunch of tetra size fish.

No, sorry. You can not keep him at all. Your tank is too small for him.

There are possible tank mates but you need a bigger tank.Your Jack will not grow or live long in that tank.Small tanks will stress your fish and it may die prematurely .
At least try and find a deal on a bigger used tank. You will be a lot happier and your fish will live a longer life.:19:

Oh ya, Welcome to the AC.Don't think we are giving you a hard time, but with the right sized equiptment your fish raising experience will be a lot more enjoyable.
It sure beats buying new fish all the time without knowing why.You may even want to buy a liquid water test kit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
