This is for anyone who lives in the Cape Breton, Sydney area. We are getting an pets unlimited. Hopefully it will be open before Christmas. It's going in the old Sobeys building, next to Michael's. Isn't this awesome news? :19:

Cool. I have at least a 40 minute drive to get to several, which only three I classify as worthy of buying fish from. The rest are chain pet stores. Now you just have to hope they hire someone who cares about fish and knows how to take care of them.

Wow! I have three in a five minute radius. Glad to hear your getting a good LFS close by.

You know what's odd, I went to get groceries last night, and saw a small fish shop, in a strip mall on my way home. Never even knew it was there.

I have 2 LFS within a 30 minute drive, one is 10 min and the other 30.

Im lucky to have an old man less then a mile away who runs his own aquarium out of his house, its not the fanciest place, but he'll get in anything I need, takes in old fish I dont want, etc... when he's not open, its a 1hr trip it petsmart/petco/pet quarters (all in the same town) sounds great.. but they all have the same tanks... bleh... and no discus anywhere in sight... except for the old man who lets me order them.

My local store is part of a national franchise but they have one guy who's totally fish crazy. He's got a nice discus collection and regularely gets in exotics such as a freshwater moray. He's got 15 different L-species in stock. Unusual because in this country big freshwater aquariums are not very common. Over here almost anyone but the most keen hobbyist will consider a 40 gallon tank very large.
