Well it is time that i get a canister for my other 55g. I currently only have a aquaclear 500 HOB on it. i was looking at getting the Fluval 305 or 405. I know some members on here have experience with them and i am wondering if it would be the right choice. I have read good reviews about them and just want some opinions. Right now im too cheap to buy the eheim, but if anyone has any other recommendations other than fluval, they are more than welcome. Thanks!

Edit: Are the XP2 or XP3 any good? They are so cheap! Also somehow i missed some affordable eheims. Like the 2215... I was looking at the professional series. Sooo..Basically i can afford anyone of them so im looking for what is best and any personal experience or recommendations. Thanks again!

I am running 2-304's on my 110. Love them. I went with them because I have a friend that has ran a 404 on his 56 gallon for a few years and had no problem. I don't have any experience with the others.

I think they are pretty fine.

Thanks for all the input. I have found an eheim 2215 for just over 100 bucks. So i think i am going to go with that. Everyone who has ever used eheim has nothing but good to say about it. Thanks a lot!

I have used Fluvals for about 9 years and they are great. I woudl go with the Fluval 405, but I will not challenge the Eheims, for the same reason, seems like everyone who has had one says they are hands dwon the best. The National Zoo in D.C. uses them.

I installed my Eheim 2215 yesterday, I can't believe how quiet it is.. I breathe louder than it pumps.... Oh, but it didn't clear my water yet, been running for 24 hours, still just as cloudy. I don't think it's going to be the answer to my water, just good maintenance.
