Don't mix turtles with fish ... most turtles will eat the fish as they get larger.

If you really want to keep turtles you will have to look at converting your tank to a viviarium - half water - half land and leaving the fish out

You can have fish, but you have to assume that anything in with a turtle will eventually end up as food.

They do not need half land and half water. They need just enough space to dry off on. This is done by having a log stick up out of the water, or using something like Zoo Med's Turtle Dock.

The tank would have to be switched to either open-topped or a screen top, you can't use the plastic and glass top used for aquariums.

It means more cleaning, some relatively expensive lighting, and probably a change in filtration. Most turtle tanks are not filled quite to the top, in which case a canister or internal filter is better than a HOB.

If fed a diet of exclusively prepared foods (high quality pellets) since they are hatchlings, many turtles will not bother live animals unless they get really hungry. Feeding live foods will increase their aggression level and make it much more likely that they will bother any fish.

Are these changes that you can and are willing to make?
