how do i recognise which molly is male and which one is female ?

Also if you have one of each the male will chase the female and his anal "fin" will point forward when he get right up to her.

Depending on which kind of molly it is, the male will sometimes have a larger fan like dorsel fin, and sometimes be smaller than the female. But the gonopodium like fishalicious said is the easier way to recognise
