View Full Version : Our freshwater community

I haven't posted much on our freshwater tanks since we started our saltwater tank. Here are some recent pictures of our 55 community tank. All of the plants have been doing extremely well. One of the bananas has huge leaves and has trippled in size and I can see its roots on the bottom of the tank.

I am going to trim some of the newer gowths on the java ferns and add them to our goldfish tank (fingers crossed that they don't eat them), I have twice as much now as I did a few months ago. This tank is doing really well, tonight is water change night so it will be cleaned up. I've also counted 9 tiny MTS (about the size of a new born guppies tail), which is the first ones I've seen since we added them to the tank, so they are not reproducing too fast.

hope you enjoy

Thank you. It has 8 cories, 8 neons, 4 female guppies, 2 male guppies, 1 angel fish, 1 female betta, a Black mystery snail, a golden apple snail, several mts and a male fiddlar

Bit bare looking isn't it?

Bit bare looking isn't it? I like keeping it simple. There will be more plants in the future, but for now all our cash has been going into our reef tank. I also plan on giving the guppies away to make room for a few more cories, neons, and possibily another angel. The guppies were a project before I started our reef tank, but now I don't have time for any more fry, so when they get big enough their being sold or given away

I actually really like the simple look, but think it would be a lot more eye-catching with a background - a plain black one for example would really make the fish and plants pop out

Overall though nice tank :D

Excellent and very affordable idea.

Very nice, I always did love the schools of Neon Tetras. I think that was the first freshwater fish I dropped in a FW tank set up.
