The first three would be called female crowntails at my store. The last one would not be, just not enough of it.

they are all veil tails. the third one is veil but, but might have a slight case of fin rot. the others are just veil tail but might have been ruffed up a bit. crowntails are easy to spot, their tails are really well. lol they look like crowns, but not just the back part, all part of the back portions of the fins, including the top and bottom.

The first three look like crowtail females and the last one looks like a regualr ole round tail.

That one is a double ray CT female, but she is a CT.

Thanks guys...Ive narrowed down my choice to two. have a look at the close ups, and see if both are definitely Crowntail. I definitely need a Crowntail to breed with the male, and I don't want to make a mistake.

The first is DEFINITELY a CT female. The second one I am not sure. Who are you wanting to breed the female with?

Quadruple crowntail, nice. We have had a couple in at my work, just none with the right colors. I have a double crowntail female and a normal finned female in my 75. Definitely get a crowntail female and start conditioning them.

Wish we were closer...I'd borrow your double Crowntail and we could share the babies! I'm having trouble ordering anything online here in Canada, as this is the wrong season.

Those are just pics, not labels or explanation of the varieties. I find it hard to believe they call it double ray when there are more than two. Double would mean two, since the rays are grouped in fours I called it quadruple. As long as people know what I am talking about (more so than if you can four 'double') I don't see an issue.

I have never heard of a quadruple ray before and I am on a lot of Betta sites!!!!!!!

I've checked on other sites, and was told he's a double double( souinds like a coffee) and other's have referred to him as a quad. It really doesn't matter...he's just a very pretty fish! I'm more concerned with getting a crowntail female to breed him with...Thanks everyone for the help!!
