I have a handful of ghost shrimp in my tank. While the females berry frequently, until now I figured the fry wouldn't get past the hatchling stage. Since Ghost shrimp go through a free floating larval stage most either get eaten by fish and other shrimp, or get drawn into the filter and killed.

Surprise! Last night as I was trying out my new Eheim gravel vac what did I discover ... 1 half inch long ghost shrimp!

Since I haven't added any new ones from the store in a while and the only small one I'd gotten has grown to full size, this must be one that was hatched in the tank!

Ah, the fun of aquariums. :c3:

Nice. I found two Ghost shrimp in my canister filter during a cleaning. They had been living in there for three months. I constantly have berried females also. The babies need brackish water for the first stage of their lives though. I'm surprised if you had one actually hatch and grow up in your tank.
