I have two 2.5 Inches long RES turtle. I have to travel and there will be no one back home to take care of them. Currently they are in a 20 Gal plastic tub. The vacation plan i have for them is as follows:
1. Put them close to Window where they get light for basking in day time.
2. Put some Black Molly fishes In the tub which they can eat. (till now i have tried puting Molly in the tub but have not seen them eating it, may be they will eat it when they are really hungry)
3. Put some Aquatic plants in the tub that they can eat.
4. I have 2 apple snails 3 inches each, should i put those as well in the tub so that they can eat them? wil they be able to eat apple snails as big as 3 Inches?
Other option is to starve them, I know turtles can live without food for long time, will they be ok without food for 3 weeks? this will also help maintaining water quality.
