Does anybody know where I can find plans on how to build a canister filter for my 75 gal tank

GM got the good links. personally i think that homemade canisters should be on max 20g tanks. on a 75g youre best off dropping $125 for a fluval 405 on ebay

The inline pump you will need cost more than a 405.

I ordered a used 404 on ebay for 50 but it needs a few parts nice of him to tell me after I bought it. He is probably geting bad feedback for not listing it right but replacement parts dont cost much

Well, thats not good, I'd contact eBay and tell them to do something about him not giving you a proper description.

still it was only like 35 dollars and shipping was 15 and I just have to get a few parts. better then paying 150
