I was wondering if Molly fry could go a few days without a filter? I have another 10 gallon tank, that I cleaned up, just have not set up yet. My Dalmatian molly, Marie, looks like she is ready to pop again. But, stupid me, I took the breeding net apart to clean it, and broke it. And I can not get to a pet store for a few days, well hopefully a few days. So I was thinking, if I took a few gallons out of the tank the mollies are in now, and maybe just added a little more a few times a day, and took out a little each day, the fry would be ok in there right? I have an extra air pump and stuff, just no filter for the tank. I was only hoping to catch and save a few of them like maybe 4 or 5. Or should I just wait until next time?

I would think that is ok for a couple of days. I was thinking that goldfish do ok in those small bowls and so do Bettas and those set ups have no filter. Just don't over feed them to mess up the water and check the water with a test kit. I bought this mini filter from Dr. Fosters Smiths online and it was only about $7.99 it's for tiny set ups but looks like a hanging filter to a large tank. it's called Azoo palm filter its for desk top up to 5 gal. tanks. I love this thing. I have it on a 2 1/2 gal. fry tank and I got another one for a 3 gal tank because I did not like the underground filter it came with. You should check it out online.

I do not agree with fish bowls either, only for decoration with floating candles! LOL Still it does not stop pet stores from keeping fish in them. Maybe we should start some sort of petition or something, I used to go to petsmart, and they keep their bettas in little, umm, almost tupperware containers. That is why I do not go there anymore. It is a big company, maybe if enough people object they will stop? But, as far as my babies go, if worse comes to worse, I think that the 10 gallon with constant upkeep will be ok for 2 to 3 days, don't you?
