here are some pictures of my 55g setup. Although im going to have to tear it all down later to put it on the stand im building. What do you all think. Should i add some more plants or caves. Im planning on keeping some dwarf cichlides like kribs, and keyholes other than that idk yet. Right now im making a cave out of 4 inch pvc pipe.

I will post pictures of my stand when its all finished. Right now we have the frame together and we are adding the finishing wood.

Looks good Adam. I would clump more plants together as lots of fish won't use the caves but like sleeping in the plants. It's coming along very nicely.

Thanks everyone. Im going to town tonight ill get a couple of plants so i can group some. The green floating plant is a real plant and idk if it will make it or not.

Good looking tank you've got going there Adam and nicely taken picture too. Now all that's missing are some fish :D, it's good to see you're being patient about stocking your tank, and waiting until everythings perfect. Be sure to post pics of your complete setup, diy stand and caves included.

Looking really good. All of the pants and hiding spots will be great. I've got a lot of caves in my 55 and I've noticed that the more places fish have to hid the safer they feel so they are willing to swim more freely.

Thanks everyone!! And yes hobbs it looks really nice. I was debating putting bigger sized rocks on it or go with the small stones and I like what I did. Maybe in the future ill Make one with bigger rocks.

Im glad everyone likes my tank(and my small thumbnails although idk how i did it). Im hoping my fish like it just as well.

Nice tank. I would be careful with some of those ornaments. Fish can't swim backwards very well. The was a thread a while ago where people had fish get stuck in the decoration and die. Make sure your fish either won't fit at all, or that there is plenty of wiggle room. :)

That was me who wrote that. I spent $38 for this big, beautiful castle that's now sitting in a box (with 3 other ornaments) I had 2 gourami's and one clown loach get stuck in it and die. Not all that many fish use the ornaments in an aquarium, anyway. Loaches like to hide but most others prefer to hide in plants so I cram my aquariums with plants mostly. (plastic)

So the real question is... what does the tank look like now.. a year later.. what type of fish are in the tank now?

And it's a year old thread.. lol..

People need to set their options so they're not writing to posts a year after the fact. I think I go back 45 days.
