i have had a hair algae problem ever since i went from about 3 wpg to a little over 6wpg, with a 10,000k bulb and a 6700 k bulb, compact fluorescents i realize that that is part of it, but what else helps it. the threads are about 3" long now
6 wpg? I hope you're using CO2!

yah sry forgot 6 bubbles per second!
Okay, that's great. The 10,000k bulb isn't doing much for your plants but is doing great things for the algae, I think that is at least part of the issue. I'd recommend switching out the 10,000k for another 6700k.

What is your CO2 ppm and how long do you leave the lights on for? What fertilizers do you add?

I have used H2O2 numerous times. Some of your plants will die back but so will all of the algea.
