Would like your opinions

Just reset up my 55gal. I have had experience with tropicals in the past wanted to try something different, so I went with Central American cichlids, what do you think of this mix will it be sucessful.

2 Black Convicts
2 Pink Convicts
2 Firemouths
6 Australlian Slender Rainbows
2 Small Green Aneus Catfish

I was told by a pretty reputable LFS that this would be OK to do any feedback would be greatly appreciated

I worry about the welfare of the rainbows and the aenus.convicts are horrible mean my wife couldnt keep anything with hers.

i would only do 1 convict, if 2 pair up they will kill anything that goes near their eggs.

I agree. If you end up with a breeding pair, the other fish are in trouble. The pair will become extremely territorial and will harass the other fish to death.

I am not sure of the specific rainbow that you have stated, i googled it and nothing came up. i would use a different, cheaper fish as a dither tho.
