Any advice on keeping Lamprologus multifasciatus.

High PH - sand substrate and at least 4 shells per fish - 1 male to every 2-3 females.

It depends on your tank size how many you can keep but you can easily start of with just a male and 2-3 females as they spawn quite readily. A few are eaten but they usually control their own community and keep the numbers steady.

Expect to find your tank looking different everyday as they will rearrange it the way they like it as well as moving the shells about all day long.

Very fascinating and fun fish :19:

great fish used to have a trio of Lamprolgus ornatipinnis in a 10 gal, which are very similar and just a lil bit larger at about 2" I kept them at 78*, ph of 8.6 with very hard water. i used a coral based sand to keep the water hard and alkaline, make sure to have plenty of shells for em too!

bearded dragon substrate(calcium sand) works great for shellies. You know the stuff not reccomended for aquariums.

Man I LOVE those "general" rules.
