I had a Opaline Gourami in a ten gallon tank and when i had other fish in there with Him He picked them apart. He was a big bully. I thought I should add another gourami to see if He wanted a friend. Well Terrible idea, over night He killed the smaller new addition :(

So for a while there I had him all by himself. couple days ago I went out and bought a 60 gallon tank that is very long. I added a gold gourami and to my surprise they seem to be enjoying their company. Both males, they swim together and like to check out the Tige barber that swim in the middle to lower parts of the tank.

I love when my fish get along.

It was probably that the gourami didn't have enough room in a 10 gallon.

My male lavender gourami is a big bully too. I am seriously considering putting him in a tank alone. Not only because he is such a bully, but he and the female will not slow down with the eggs. Did yours seem to do ok alone?

The rate at which Gourami's get the "urge" is right up there with livebearers imo.

They have "laid eggs" 3 times in 2 weeks. :) He is a very good father, but super aggressive.
