I am new at raising fry. I am proud to be a breeder, but I don't know much. I need to know how old they have to be before they can be reunited with their parents. I have baby mickey mouse tail fish.

I assume you mean Platies?
They will be ready to go back in the main tank when they are big enough to not fit in the biggest mouth in your tank.
From my experience breeding guppies it is at about a month of age.

Best way to raise frys is to purchase a little enclosure (I have the Lee's 2-Way Breeder from Petsmart, removing the V slit included). It's plastic with small slits on the side and the sides have a pocket to catch air so it can float. Just place it in your tank and place the frys in there. Just feed them regular fish flake, but make sure you smash it up into almost dust (just place a small amount in a small sandwich bag and use your fingers to crush it up, then use a toothpick or something small and dip it in the water so you can pick up the food easier). I also feed them algae disk...I break it into small pieces and just drop about two or three pieces in there and they'll eat that for days. Good luck.
Actually that's bad for fry. If it was just a few you could have them in one for about a week otherwise you'll stunt their growth.

I meant to keep them safe from getting eaten by the adults if you don't want to set up another tank...just keep them in there for a week or two until they get big enough to not get eaten.

My experience with guppy fry is that there will always be some survivors in a community tank provided it is well planted and that you properly feed the adults.
There is special fry food on the market these days, both in liquid and dust form.
