Many people have tried and tried to get good pictures of their fish, but cant make them stay put or have them go where they want to, i discovered this trick when i was doing a project for my german class. A good way to get a picture of the side of your fish is to take a tubifex worm cube, and press it onto the glass on the side wall of your aquarium. The fish will come up and start nibbleing on the tubifex worm cube and it will give you a good chance at a broadside picture.

Thankyou, now i just have to figure out a way to get pictures from straight on without having a huge chunk of worm in the way

LOL I have no problem getting pics of my angelfish as they smear themselves next to the glass when I walk up to the tank. The others, forget it. They all run the other way and the darned loaches won't hold still for 1 second.

They must like to play with your head. My corys will come up close to the glass, but when i get close to take a picture, they go and hide in their cave.

another tip is to shoot the pics on an angle in relation to the glass. this way you will not catch the flash reflection in the pic. works very well.

best way to get good shots is to have off-camera flash, I shoot with a nikon and I have a cord that connects to the camera and flash, extends up to 5 feet and that way I can hold the flash off to the side or above the fish to get good lighting and no glare.

Hobbs that must be a thing for Angelfish, every angel I have had was so friendly I mean they eat out of my hand, Love to flare their fins for pictures and like you said I go near the tank and they are the first to the front of the tank. Great friendly fishes!
