Hello Everyone!!

Hello all. My name is Gayle, I am 29, mommy of two beautiful little girls, Vet Tech student (yes a little late for College, but better than never), very new to fish. What happened was my mom had a fish tank for years, but all but one of her fish passed away (old age) and his name is Charlie. She did not want to keep up a huge tank for one fish, and not wanting anymore fish, she put Charlie in a fishbowl on her kitchen counter. Not in any way saying she did anything cruel, but I felt sorry for him, all alone in that little bowl :( So I told her that I felt like it was wrong to keep him that way, so she said "Then you take him". Well, that was that, a week later I had a 30 gallon tank set up, new to this I have been pretty lost with what to do, thank goodness for this website!!!! That tank has been up for almost a month now, I have Charlie of course (some sort of catfish?), Marie and Lucy (dalmation mollies), and Gary and Sandy (Lavender Gouramis). They are doing very well. Marie had some babies last week, but none of them survived, again I am new to this, so I was a little late on getting the breeding net. Right now Gary has a huge bubblenest he has been working on constantly. I did have a male dalmation molly (Mike) but he died a few days ago, his tail was all torn up, and he looked as if he had gotten into a fight maybe. I love watching the my fish family! My daughters really enjoy it too!

I have lots of pictures of Charlie, as well as my other fish that I would really love to share with all of you, but it appears that all of my pictures are too big. I have a Lab this morning, but when I get back I think I am going to just make a myspace page for my fish. :) When I do I will post the address. Thank you all so much for the warm welcome!!!
