The Angelfish have spawned yet again. The little ones have hatched and are getting ready to swim around tomorrow I reckon...

I had taken their fave spawning plant out thinking that it might stop them for a while...but the ended up using the algae magnet to lay their eggs on...hilarious as I could just move the whole magnet with eggs lower to do a waterchange :19:

Yesterday when they hatched on the algae magnet:

Today they have been moved to a piece of wood...

The male is realllly aggressive this time and even jumped out of the tank when I was feeding to bite my hand :c2:

I stopped counting at 157 <arghhhhhz>

You can have them all including the spawning couple Hobbs ;)

Little update:
4th September - they have spread out and are seeking their own space they are still feeding on their fat egg sacks
http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n323/Fishaliciousfish/1227f129.jpg

7th September - and they are off and being fed 5 times a day these are the little guys that as still a bit too shy to take that leap into the tank to swim and are practising near the wood... Mum swims with the swimmers and Paps stays with the wood brood

Thanks peeps :1luvu: They are not really lying on the wood..they are about 1 cm from the wood practising to swim...this group will not venture far from the wood though... they are still a bit scared <bless em> I expect them to join the other swimming ones tomorrow the latest.

I have also filmed them at taking off and might upload the vid..

I am amazed every single time at how tiny they are being Angelfish fry...

Ooooh your camera is fantastic!!! Probably better than mine :18:

I have Canon 40D & Rebel XSi bodies.... the above piccie was taken with the XSi and just the plain stink old normal kit lens - 18-50mm (too lazy to shuffle through the bag of lenses for a quick snapshot LOL)

Lens depends on what you want to use it for - landscape...portrait...close up's etc.

close up, so I am thinking macro, need type and serial number suggestions, we (hubbie has F100) have a wide angle but that is no use, I want to be able to take nice pics of my tank and its inhabitants

A great macro lens for the Nikon is a no brainer.... they have a award winning one - AF-S VR Micro-NIKKOR 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED

Takes 1:1 images but being 105mm you can still use it for other stuff as well other than just exclusively macro shots...inbuilt Vibration Reduction so you can keep the camera in your hand when chasing the fishies for pics at 4 different shutter speeds...without having blurring or picture movement

If you hadn't noticed I am drooling all over my keyboard LOL

I'm blown away at how nice those pics are.

What kind of water ccirulation do you have in that tank?
Is it fairly still or is there alot of flow?

Fishalicious
11-02-2008, 11:24 PM
This tank is 150 Gallons...and filtered by a Eheim Pro III 2180 (moves 450 gallons per hour) and Eheim Pro II 2028 (moves 275 gallons per hour) ...the fry actually get swung about in the flow as they are quite high up on the wood.

Water clarity is one of my big annoying ticks though... I like the water so clear that you can't tell there is water in the tank, if it is not like that I drive myself crazy... hehehehe

Thank you so much for the compliments... all thanks to the cute little models :19:

How cool is that, Beautiful Angels btw and pics are quality.
Ps why do Angels spawn everywhere except where you want them to?
The filter is a fav place for mine, lol.
Best of luck with the fry!
