After I woke up this morning I turned on the 20 gallon light. All the fish started to come out of their sleepy spots, out came the orange dwarf gourami from his little plant forest and he looked fine and then all of a sudden out of no where, he darted across the tank, back the other way and ran right into the side of the tank!! Then he resumed to his normal calm swimming and came up to the front of the tank. What the heck just happened??
I looked at him to see if there was ick or anything on him, nothing......the water is fine, I did a big water change just yesterday. I have no clue what it would be.

He just got a fright when waking up :hmm3grin2orange: ... I've seen some of mine do it now and again..especially the Betta
He must have been having a real nice dream....

I walked thru the house the other night when only the night light was on and apparently my silver dollars caught my shadow. Honestly, they were hitting the tank walls and tank hood. Bump/bump/bump Gez.....I felt sorry for them.
Agreed with the suggestion that he just got a fright. My gouramis do that pretty regularly.

wow you get to sleep till 9??!!!! My niece, who will be 4 in 8 days, wakes me up by 6:30 whenever I sleep there!! And that is late for her -- she wants to watch the little mermaid or "memo" (nemo)
by the way -- she kisses her tank good morning and good night every day-- I gave her the tank and fish early for her bithday!!

He thought you were that fisherman he was dreaming about and got startled and ran away before he realized it was the lovely person that takes such good care of him.

Yeah, I would not worry about it. My Siamese algae eaters do it all the time with the lights on or off. One of them I named Spaz, hits the glass cover 2 - 3 times everyday.
