At my LFS, They have several great looking cichlids. I have a few small fish in my 29 gallon and are looking to move them into my now empty 10 gallon and makeing my 29 gallon into a cichlid tank. any suggestions on how many/what kind of cichlid (fairly inexpensive) to put in, or is my 29 even big enough? Thanks!

for that size tank i would go with dwarf cichlids. ie, keyhole cichlids, kribensis, apistos etc.

How many should i keep in it?

i would say no more than 3 keyholes. no more than 1 male kribensis. not at the same time though. if you get a krib only get a male. the females are very aggressive.
or you can buy the kribs very small like i did and allow them to grow together. they are not aggressive and i dont know what they are as far as male/female but they do good together along with my female Ram.

My male krib is definately the most aggressive in my tank the female never shows even a hint of agression. Ive lost a few fish to the male krib he can be alittle feisty he even stressed my bolivian ram to death. My young moorii runs from him even though they are the same size but doesnt seem too stressed by it.

I have decided on yellow labs instead of kribs.
