Its hilarious watching him swim after it... because of the air pump, the orange slice flips around and he's hunting it mouth wide open. latchs on and goes for a ride in the current munchin' away lol

Exactly lol

I maybe need to anchor one to temp the big pleco. He got close to one slice but then the little pleco realized his orange stash was at risk and chased him away.

looks like your plecos enjoying oranges which is nice to see,you could use a screwcumber designed for cucumber but is also great for holding other fruits and veggies, link below if your interested

I totaly need one of those!

The butter knife works, but I would still prefere not putting a knife of anysort in there.

Maybe one of the pet stores around me have them in stock, or something similar.

I heard loaches love it too but it didn't work for me but neither do the peas or bananas I hear they love so much. I do give them some melon now and then, zucchini, etc, as well as pellets.

You can just stick a fork in it and it will sink, too.

what i do is take zucinni and cut about 5 or so slices about 1/4 inch thick, then microwave them in a small bowl of water for about a minute and a half. Let them cool off. The sink right to the bottom and the plecos love them.

I'm going to try some oranges.

I'll have to try that! Do they stay near the bottom, or do they eventually float again?

they sink and stay but not for long. the plecos eat the meat out and the silver dollars eat the skins. and any thing else gets eaten by the snails.

That's neat, I never thought they'd eat oranges. And as for the floating thing, I used to attach the cucumbers to rocks with rubber bands, but whatever works for you.
