Gouramis & BNs

Hi all,

I recently put in 4 gouramis ( 1 pearl, 1 is big and orange, & the other two are big & blue, i am sure that is not the technical name for em). Anywho, they keep freaking out anytime I go near the tank. I spoke to a friend who has had his for a few months now, & they are still doing the same for him. I am hoping this is only a settling in phase for them, or will they be freaking out all the time. I don't think i can handle it. I feel really guilty any time they do it!

Also, my BNs are hiding all the time since I put the Gouramis in, is this normal, or does this part belong in the BN section?

It could be that they just need time to settle in, although if they remain very skittish for more than a week or so, I might start investigating possible water parameter / quality issues that might be making them twitchy. Did you have them in a quarantine tank for any period of time before introducing to your display? How did you acclimate them to the water?

As to your other question, I have two opaline and two neon blue dwarf gourami in my tank with my albino veiltail bristlenose, and they totally ignore each other (except the occasional spat over NLS pellets or cucumber), so I would guess it should be fine, but you might want to keep an extra close eye on things for a while.

Cool, thats what I thought!!! I have checked the water, & it seems fine though!
