Hello, it says I'm a senior member but don't let that fool you, I'm a noobie fish keeper so I have a few more questions for people.. BTW, please feel free to answer one or more questions, you don't need to feel obligated to answer all of them. Thanks for the help!!! :1luvu:

1) I had a fish die this morning of what really really sounds like fish tb. She had a receeding tail fin, wasn't eating, developed a red sore on her head, and began laying on the bottom upside down. When I had decided to put her out of her misery, to my horror, I saw her stop "breathing". So, first question, was this tb and is it contagious to my other fish?

2) Since the death of my poor fishy, I now have four neons, five rasboras, five ottos, a pleco, dwarf frog, and snail. I have decided to just keep it at those types of fish and for the most part, I'm not planning on buying anymore; however, since most of my occupants are schooling fish, should any of the numbers be larger to make them feel safe or am I at full capacity as is?

3) I bought some Egeria densa plants from petco when I tried to help my now dead fish feel safe in the breeding trap I put her in and want to keep it in my tank somehow. The rest of my plants are all plastic so this is new for me. Right now it is just floating on the top. Is there some way I can attatch it to a plastic plant base? (fyi my substrate is pea sized stones)

4) I have a common pleco and right now he is only 4-5 inches long. I understand completely that he will need a new home that is much larger than my 20g tank and I am arranging that but for now I have a food question. I feed him an algae wafer every night (which he might not get all of it b/c other fishies nibble on it) and every couple of days i give him a slice of cucumber or zucchini that is as round as a 50 cent peice and about 1/2-1 cm thick. I read somewhere that you can tell if he's getting enough food by whether or not his skin is wrinkly. Well, his tail and back seem to be wrinkly but his belly bulges against the wall. How do I tell if he's getting enough food?

Sorry about the long post... obviously I like to type a lot :P ANY suggestions will be appreciated! Thanks for your patience and help!!

Not real up on Tb so I will pass on that one

2) Since the death of my poor fishy, I now have four neons, five rasboras, five ottos, a pleco, dwarf frog, and snail. I would add a few more rasboras and neons after you have nmade sure what ever was in the tank is not gonna kill some more fish.

use some cotton thread to gently tie it down to the base and when it roots out it will hold itself.. Also the thread will rot away over time.

Sound well fed and happy to me.

I read somewhere about fish TB that..."Although this disease is not very contagious, it is a good idea to remove the fish from the main aquarium into a treatment tank. "

Ok thank you for all of your advice. I will try to tie down the plants to one of my plastic things and keep the same feeding schedule for my pleco. How long should I wait to see if it will infect the other fish? I started pimafix and melafix as recommended by my lfs so I have to do that for at least another 4days for the melafix and 6days for pimafix. Once that cycle is done is that long enough or is it good to introduce fish when there is good icky fighting stuff in the water? (ps i don't have a quaranteen tank and can't get one cus i live in a dorm)
