Hi Folks. I just thought I would introduce myself to the forum and give you some idea of what my interests are in the aquarium hobby. I have been a long time aquarium enthusiast but have been away from it for several years and am now just getting back into the hobby. Previously, my interst was in fancy goldfish and oscars ( not at the same time). I had a 100gal tank with plastic plants.
My interest now has turned to having a heavily planted live plant aquarium with numerous small community fish.....eg neons guppies etc. I have purchased a 72 gal bow front aquarium and am about to purchase some high quality substrate and CO2 system and get my plants going.
I have noticed that the forum does not have a special category of fancy guppies and am curious as to why not.....I would have thought that these delightful colourful little fish would be a popular choice for aquarists....but can only assume that they are not that popular. I have contemplated getting into breeding fancy guppies and keeping some of the most colourful specimens in my community tank. Now that I am retired, I have lots of time to devote to maintaining several tanks should I decide to go in that direction.
As I said, I am just in the setting up stage of my tank, but look forward to sharing ideas and photos ( photography is also a passion of mine).
