one of the saltwater stores by me has a sale today/tomorrow on new and used stuff, and i was there first today at 10am. they had 48" stands for $50, a 150g cube aquarium with stand for $500 that i wanted, a berlin skimmer $350 for $200 that i almost wanted, and a ton of other stuff. I went for either a new skimmer or light. I got a 36" 2x65w coralife light with fans/moonlights thats worth about $210 new for $75, only thing was a fan needs to be fixed and a moonlight is out, both take 5 minutes to fix

its actually a 2x96W light! when i asked he said 2x65w but the bulbs have 96w stamped on them
i want that dam 150g so bad, its a perfect cube. they had discus and cardinals in it, then they had a guy convert his 180g to a reef and they took his 2 18" oscars
EDIT- anyone wondering, it was this light, just the saltwater version

wonder if anyone bought the 150g cube, definitely was a nice tank, and $500 was cheap for it. had 1" thick glass and was in good shape. would have made a good reef to place in the middle of a room to be viewed from all sides

[Only Registered Users Can See Links.] Why couldn't you get the 150g and upgrade your 55g reef? Isn't that why they invented credit cards?:18:

i could have paid for the 150g cube easily on the spot, but that would mean another $700 of live rock, $500 for metal halides, $100 for sand, $30 to fill it with RO, $400 for a good skimmer, etc. and my power bill is crazy enough running metal halides and huge canister filters. im not even done my 55g breeder mantis tank. lol

Don't you already have 240 lbs Lr? lol. You could combine youre two 55g's into one tank.:18:
I can see why you wouldn't want another tank, especially one that big. Well, there always seems to be space for ONE more tank:hmm3grin2orange:

lol, next step i want to do is get a setup like wal-mart uses to sell their fish with a central plumbing unit. they go for only $500 on ebay, it would be easy to install halides on the main reef and T-5's for the rest
