i have tried brackish befor and i want to make a new setup:19: can you guys please correct the following info if wrong?

first of all brackish is not much harder than freshwater setups correct? the main difference is just salt levels. there isn't really any extra equipment you need(compared to fresh) except test kits. liverock or other types of baterial supplements are not needed.

Thanx,

I have never kept brackish before but i think the only thing diff. is something to measure the salt in the tank..

There are 2 things to keep in mind with a brackish environment. First, always use marine salt to create a brackish tank and second, at higher brackish levels, a protein skimmer can be beneficial.

i was thinking archerfish, but after that i thought i'd get a tall hex tank and only fill it a fraction for plants to hang down for their unique marksmanship.

also realize that most freshwater plants won't survive in salt waters.
Although there are a few species that will survive. Dave gave me the link...

here it is!

Anyway, I figured that's one thing to consider.
I'm also planning one, so I've been trying to do as much research as I could.
