This is the first time I have ever tried breeding fish and I am quite amazed. I had two dalmation mollies and a platy that were all preg. They ended up having all their fry pretty much one right after the other. We had to move them to a 20 gal because they were in a ten, when we moved them we counted them and we have a total of 152 fry lol. To our surprise none of them died when we moved them. Only about 17 of those are the platy's fry, I know this because they are orange. They are 2 weeks old as of tomorrow, they are getting big and seem to be doing very well. We have live plants in the tank that they just love to pick at and feed them crushed up flakes and blood worms. We have only lost about 15 all together. We do have four other tanks for them to be transfered to once they get bigger because I know they cant all stay in the 20 gal. Im very excited about all the fry but its very stressful because I worry about them all the time lol. But if there is any advice that anyone can provide that would be great, thanks!

It will be hard to house 150 Livebearers which will all start having their own babies even with 5 tanks. Have you somewhere to sell them?

Yes, we plan on asking friends and family first if they want any and then we have a LFS that would probably take the rest. We were probably only going to keep a couple babies. I was just asking if there was anything else that we need to do other than what we already are.

Ah ok some advice then the four over tanks if they are not running yet i'd get them cycled ready because you want to have the least fry you can in each tank because overstocking when they're young can slow growth and possibly stunt them.

Also you say probably I would try and make sure that the store will definitly take the amount you are planning to give.

Heard of too many people assuming the lfs will take them then ending up with Too many adults babies that start breeding because the store won't take them. Wouldn't want that to happen to you.

I really appreciate it. I will make sure to talk to the stores tomorrow but Im almost certain they will take them. Thanks again for your help!
