hello, today i was at a petland and saw a 2 3/4" catifish(only one there) unlike any i've ever seen in a pet/fish store i liked it so i got it. the tank he was in was unmarked so i asked an employee what it was so he called someone and got a name for it and a price. it was a suposedly a bulhead catfish but i'm not so sure about the truth to that. i got him for $2.99 (U.S.). does anybody know what he truly is and any care information? he may actually be a bullhead but i really have no idea. in the picture notice hoe he has whisker on the top of his head.
Thanx,
-Kai

It does look like a black bullhead which gets 16" and thats all I know about them. :c3: I also read that they will eat anything and have a big mouth so follow the same rule as an Oscar if it fits in their mouth dont put it in.

Any sort of appropriate-size sinking pellets, they aren't picky eaters.

we have alot of people with brown bullheads around here and I know they are especially fond of earthworms... makes em grow very quickly too.
It mght be a black lancer cat.

Bullhead catfish are scavengers, but they will happily eat any live fish small enough to fit into their mouth.
