I feed my fish peas aprox. 2-3 times a week and cucumber 1-2 times a week. The fish seems to love the pea more and suck it down, am I feeding them to much, in my 55 I'll put maybe 5-6 and within a few hrs. they are gone, the cory's, weather loach, betta and seem to just love the stuff. The cucumber is a funny thing my kid thought I'd put an onion ring in the tank one day due to the fish eating the inside first, as a kid I think I'd thought the same thing. I also feed a small piece to my bettas at least once a week.

I feed my clown loaches and bala sharks peas and cucumbers as well but not as often. But I don't think the way you do it isn't a bad I idea neither.

What other veg's are good for my fish? I usually boil water and stick the slice of cucumber in it for 15-20 sec before adding to my tanks. Also will bettas eat cucumber?, the one female in the 55 seems to pick at it but I'm not sure weather or not she really eats it. On veg's how about green pepper, lettuce, etc. have a guinea pig so we always get other veg's.

I don't boil the cucumber I put in the tank. They have no probs eating it raw. I don't feed it as regularly as you do. Hubby and I don't eat cucumber, so I only get it for the fish every few weeks or so, and then feed them 2 slices of cucumber every day until it's gone, and then they go another month without it or so. I feed peas whenever I feel like it, which is about once every 2 weeks or so.
My betta used to pick at cucumber too, but wouldn't eat much of it. He would gobble down algae wafers tho:) But they are carnivores, so limit the amount of veggie based food for them.
I feed my mystery snails lettuce and spinach, but have never tried them with fish.

Reminded me of when my daughter thought a Butterfinger candy bar was made of wood.
