This is a fish tank at the Oita Marine Center that has open holes in the side where you can feed the fish. There's a vacuum holding the water in so that it doesn't pour out, but still allows the fish to swim out and be fed or pet.

That is interesting.... but if the only surface that is in contact with air are the holes... shouldn't that eventually lead to a drop in the concentration of oxygen in the water?... or is it that the low pressure also induces oxygen from the air to be "sucked up" through the holes? hmmmm....

I wish I could ask those fish how they like it there!

I'd worry about people putting stuff in the tank.

Same.

It would be cool though, during feeding you could drop everything in those little holes and watch the fish go crazy al l trying to squeeze in there.

looks a little packed in there in general though? maybe overstocked!"

May appear over stocked due to it being feeding time. Since it's set up at a Marine Center, I'm sure it's fine and set up with only the fish in mind. It looks to me as the fish can travel into different sections.
