I was wondering about the stealth heaters. I have 2 of them for my 55g but i noticed they just stick to the side of the tank instead of having a lip on the top. Do you have to put the full heater inside the tank, and then not fill up your tank past the top of the heater? Or what else can i do.

I keep them horizontal in the middle of the tank. They can be completely submerged, that is how they are designed. Go ahead and push the whole thing under the water.
