View Full Version : guppy fry
My batch of fry are one month old today. How soon should you wait to put them in with other fish?? Seems like I have read it somewhere but of course I can't find it.

i would wait till they were big enough to fend for themselves and also not get eaten by any tank mates

It's simply a matter of how crowded the fry tank is; if it's already full, toss anything small enough to be eaten into the main tank. Otherwise, you'll be the next victim of MTS, and no one will be able to help you.
What species of fish do you have and what size are they?
2- corys
2- zebra
3- platies
2- blue long fin dianos
2- tetras barbs
I've got a female platie that tonite looks like she is going to explode. I'd like to put her in with the guppie fry, but just don't know.

It sounds like they'll be all right in right in there as long as they haven't been crowded in to small of a tank. I've got two guppy fry that are a month old and are to big to get eaten by the 2 guppies, 3 peppered corys, 1 wrestling halfbeak, and 1 ram that are in that tank.
