Today I might make my first purchase for my 24g nano cube, I have no clue what because idk what the pet store I'm going to has but, I'm hoping they have something like a hydrometer, thermometer, or salt mix.

I'm sorry, but what does the link have to do with the poster's question? Did I miss something?

they said they might pick up a hydrometer, and the response was that a refractometer is more accurate... I almost missed it too.

Sorry I cannot help with your S/W question but I assume someone posted a link advertising something and GM deleted it as it is spam.

I think any of the 3 items you mention would be appropriate. You'll need all of them eventually.

If I get this other tank I'm looking at all I'll need is the hygrometer, sea salt, subsrate, lr, and the fish. And I may need a powerhead.

I'm no SW expert but I believe a powerhead is absolutely necessary. SW folks, please correct me if I'm wrong.

More flow is ALWAYS better than less, except VERY few circumstances.
