I have had more luck giving my fish zucchini than anything else. I boil it about 1 minute. Makes is softer for them and sinks better.

hey

they will eat squash and pumpkin, but it messes up the tank in a hurry.

as mentioned try zuchini, spinach, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes and potatoes.
just try to stay away from a high protien diet.

when you buy zucchini how does it come and how is it prepared?

I just slice the zucchini after washing, clip a piece to a veg clip or spear it with a small spoon and put in in the tank. The mbuna start munching on it right away and others wait a couple of hours before they start to chow. I like the veg clip better than the spoon because you can suction it to an area that is easy to reach for removal and with the spoon the skin has a tendency to float away when you pull it out.
