I have two female guppies. both were/are preagnent. Im pretty sure one gave birth last night while i was sleeping and the guppies ate te fry. (I checked on them every 20 minutes) and when i woke up, one of my females was skinnier than the other.

Now Im waiting for the other one so i can save they fry. I have my betta spawning tank set up and i planed on putting them in there before I get my bettas going.

And how many of these guppies can i keep in a 5 gallon tank already holding 3 guppies?

And how can i transfer them to the new tank? Does a regular net have too big of holes?

I have in the tank a plastic dinosoar skeleten and a plant. Also Last night I tried putting some of the breeding grass i have in but it ended up all floating to the top, so i left it there, the guppies can still hide in it right?

The breeding grass at the top is fine. I put mine up their on purpose (then again, I have alot of stuff at the bottom for them to hide if they want to stay low).

I don't know if what I normally do is the proper thing, but I usually stick the mom in one of the small 3-way breeders (small, floating, plastic, isolation chambers that are inserted in the tank) when I think she's ready.

If you have a bunch of guppies, and a mix of males and females, it might be prudent to let nature just run its course.....otherwise, you will have one big handful of guppy fry....

make sure you check for fry hiding in the gravel near the glass. my livebearers almost always give birth at night, and the fry that don't go to the plant hide in the gravel. their eyes are pretty noticeable, especially if you have a flashlight

If i dont have any gravel....where else would they hide?
