ok, have been trying to figure out what this is,
one of my angelfish had what appeared to be a would on his nose,
I have tried to take a few pics of it but they are not brilliant

He doesn't appear to be in any discomfort. or stress, the other other one ( the female ) always accompanies him and he carries on the slight bullying of her as he always has. He's not lethargic and he's not off his food.
There appears to be no signs of anything else on any other fish.

I will try to get a few more pics soon.

anyone have any rough ideas

I went through
http://www.fishdeals.com/fish_diseases/stressdisease.shtml

but nothing really seems appropriate...

he;s had the marks on the nose for quite a while now ( 3-4 weeks I guess ) with no difference, only noticed some white marks on the lower fin this weekend.

He has a bit of fungus. You will have to treat it with Metafix to see if that will clear it up. I currently as treating a bala shark for the same thing around it's mouth.......mouth fungus.

There is nothing they don't eat. Mine eat zucchini and romane lettuce. Algae pellets, all kinds of flake food and dried blood worms. They really love those blood worms.

Just be aware that they can get very large and are very fast. If you think that gal at the pet store was slow catching those danio's, watch out for these guys. They are also jumpers so keep the tank covered but they get between 8-12 inches.

If you get a bala, please make sure you have enough room for him. They are constantly on the move and are very, very fast and also like to be with their own kind. They actually do best with a group of 6 but mine are fine with just the two of them. You will not get young from them as they don't breed in captivity.

I had to remove my one from the hospital tank today where I had him with that mouth fungus. He was slamming back and forth into the glass (not helping his mouth any that way) and last night I could hear him jumping and slamming into the lid of the tank.

He had a terrible week in that small aquarium and remained stressed to the max constantly. Mouth fungus is not gone but I put him back in the large tank today.

I really would not recommend balas to anyone simple due to the huge size they get and their constant energy. I don't like that they control the tank size constantly. I would like to move some fish around but it always comes back to these two balas I have.

I wish I could stick a stamp on my two and mail them to you! I do love to watch them and they never stop moving. Very active and play together all the time.

The one with the fungus went back in the larger tank but this just won't work. I can't treat it there. It actually looks to me like he knocked the end of his nose off! I think he might have slammed into a decoration I had in the tank so whether he can be saved is or not I don't know.

if you really wanted some i would give you small tanks because that's all that's left unless my stepfather wants them. i would use them for hospital tanks.
