I have a dalmation molly that seems to be developing a slight curve on the spine. I purchased her about three months ago and since then she has developed from what looked like a regular molly into a lyre tail. Unfortunately the longer fins are making it harder for me to tell just how much the spine is curving (if any really). But it looks as if her tail is curving downward frim the middle of her back more so than the other fish.
I am worried that this may be TB. She is otherwise fine. She is not lethargic, has no scale problems or protruding eyes. She is eating. I hate to get rid of her if she is fine and I am overreacting. But this seems so serious that I dont want to take a chance either. I also have a turtle in the tank and while it does not try to eat healthy fish (hes very lazy), he has gone after a couple that have seemed to be weak and exhausted (I had a very aggressive male that pestered a couple of females and the turt took advantage). At any rate i dont want him eating the fish if it is sick.
Any suggestions for correctly identifying this disease? Should the curve be very pronounced? Does it occur with other symptoms or can this occur alone?
Thanks for helping out this newbie!
